Expression of Interest (EOI): Part-Time Role at the National Museum of Montserrat
Position: Museum Digitisation and Cataloguing Assistant
Location: National Museum of Montserrat, Montserrat National Trust
Start Date: November 1, 2024
End Date: October 31, 2025
Hours: Three (3) days per week (flexible)
Salary: Negotiable, based on experience
Role Overview:
The National Museum of Montserrat and the Montserrat National Trust seek a dedicated individual to join our team part-time. This role is ideal for someone interested in history, museums, traditional instruments, and documentary filmmaking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digitise (photograph) and catalogue museum objects
- Assist in the production and editing of documentary films
- Assist in developing and presenting short workshops, performances, and two museum exhibits
- Transcribe and annotate audio and visual files using ELAN software (training will be provided)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Interest in history, museums, and traditional instruments
- Basic technology skills, including digital photography and general computer proficiency
- High level of literacy in both Montserratian English and Modern Standard English
- Diplomatic skills with the ability to engage and explain the projects to museum visitors
Availability:
While the days are flexible, we prefer candidates available on Thursdays and Fridays.
